The Blue Valley Yacht Club


To create a Yacht Club on Tuttle Creek Lake, a man-made body of water in a former valley maintained by the U.S. Army Corps.

Flooding the Blue Valley

1938 US Army Corps proposes a dam that will control flooding, create a lake and recreation area without destroying the valleys and surrounding towns. - The US Government approves the plan but doesn’t fund it.
1951 The people of the Blue Valley push for the government to pull the proposal, seek President Truman and later Eisenhower to conduct a survey if it is needed
1963 The US Army Corps completes the Tuttle Dam, creating Tuttle Lake where the Blue Valley once stood.
